THERAPY FOR ANXIETY and Depression

It’s time to take back control.

Let me guess…

Thoughts cycle into worse thoughts

Maybe they keep you up at night

Maybe they impact your ability to focus at work, school or home

Maybe they are impacting your relationships

I know these thoughts cycles can really impact your life. Let’s explore what causes them, build skills for letting them go, and restructure how you think about yourself, life events and how you are with other people. I use a combination of traditional Cognitive Behavioral techniques, EMDR (see ABOUT page for more information on EMDR) and other methods to change how anxiety occurs and impacts your live.

Life can feel different than the way it does today.

Therapy can help you break the hold anxiety has on you.

FAQS

What others have wondered about therapy for anxiety

  • This depends on the severity and persistence of your feelings but most people I work with see notable improvement in 8-12 weeks of therapy

  • Anxiety can be caused by learned habits of worrisome thoughts, brain chemistry or trauma. Depression can also be caused by habits, breain chemistry, or trauma as well as by losses that are not resolved or healed. All can be improved by therapy but sometimes medication can also be very helpful

  • Most therapists use CBT to help someone stop negative thoughts and improve coping strategies. I do that, but in addition I will help you work through how past events may impact anxiety and anxious parts of yourself may actual being trying to help. This approach may make more lasting change and works best to when anxiety beliefs about the world or oneself are causing anxiety
